I use the workspace Miro to write my comic. It’s my go-to for organising ideas about the comic I’m writing! Instead of clicking through multiple documents as I to edit my character sheets or script, I can jump around my Miro board freely. It lets my thoughts flow without being locked into a single document, so I can add ideas as they come, exactly where they need to be.

Right now, I’m focusing on my chapter index cards. Each one breaks down a bits of the plot in each chapter, and I use different coloured post-it notes to track pacing, recurring themes, and character development for consistency and growth.
I love scanning through my board, hunting for weak spots to rewrite, rearranging scenes, and discovering new ways to challenge my characters.
My favourite moments are when inspiration hits in real time; like when I uncover a character’s backstory and suddenly it adds something juicy to my storyline!
I’m also learning not to speak about every detail that the characters run into. I don’t need to answer every insignificant question about their day. Sometimes it’s ok for small things not to make sense, so long as the story goes on.
One person I really credit for my growing writing knowledge and passion is Abbie Emmons on YouTube. She has such a clear way of breaking down storytelling, character depth, and the magic of internal conflict. I always put her videos on in the background while I write and at this point, my brain is wired to start writing the moment I hear her voice. I swear, EVERY TIME she says “internal conflict” or “misbelief”, it lights a fire in my new-writer heart!
